How To Have The Most Spooktacular Halloween Party Ever!
It’s one of my favorite times of the year: fall! I’m originally from the Midwest so fall is always such a special time for me. I love it when the temps dip and the sweaters are out, Trader Joes is filled to the brim with pumpkin everything + my friends and I take an annual trip to the pumpkin patch. I especially love Halloween! It’s so much fun to dress up and use my creativity in a whole new way. Last year, I was Sia and I literally felt like a star. I still need to get my costume this year, and try to beat last years! Anyone else? Since Halloween is around the corner, I wanted to share some of my tips to having the greatest Halloween Party ever! So blare some “Monster Mash” and let’s dive in:

Choose One Spooky Theme
Yes, Halloween might seem like the theme but there are so many ways to approach the holiday! Ever walk into a Halloween store and feel overwhelmed with all the different things trying to scare you? Me too. I think the best way to have a great Halloween party is to choose one overall theme. Think zombie apocalypse, haunted mansion, or even your favorite horror movie. Can’t decide? Each room can have a different theme. If you aren’t into the uber spooky, whatever you choose can be toned down as well. A witches theme with cute black cats or a haunted house with friendly ghosts is a cute nod to the holiday without terrifying anyone.

Make a Monster Menu
Keeping your Halloween party theme cohesive will not only help with décor but can also influence your menu for the event. Pinterest is full of ideas to take food from basic to frightful. For example, pretzels dipped in white chocolate are suddenly skeleton bones. Or take any cocktail and add dry ice to make it an instant Halloween crowd pleaser!

Plan A Ghoulish Game or Activity
Having something for your guests to do at your Halloween party is a must! Decorating pumpkins or your own candy apple are popular choices. Your guests can even display their pumpkins on the front porch once they’re completed. Or you can get your guests into the Halloween spirit by hosting a costume party! Everyone can vote for their favorite costume before the end of the party and the person or couple with the best costume wins a fun prize. While you’re at it, set up an easy photo backdrop so guests can get good photos with their killer costumes.

Keep It Chill
Halloween is a great chance to celebrate the new season before the hectic Thanksgiving/Christmas season sweeps in. So use the opportunity to keep your Halloween party low key + cozy. Consider hosting a halloween movie night and watch some of your favorite 90’s slashers or classic horror movies or maybe Hocus Pocus for something we all love. Cook up some fun fall food like chili, grab a bottle of wine and cozy up on the couch. Your guests will love the chance to slow down!
