A Travel Themed Wedding at The Mountain Mermaid

When Traveling the World + Love Come Together So Perfectly 

Danette + Nikhil are two of the most fun + free spirited people. I was so excited to work with them for their dream travel themed wedding day at The Mountain Mermaid, it’s the perfect quirky garden venue for these two world travelers! Danette and Nikhil share a deep love for traveling and have been practically everywhere together! We incorporated this passion from the moment guests arrived by having them sign a globe in lieu of a traditional guest book on the welcome table. We then used an old suitcase for cards and vintage cameras around the rest of the welcome table. Danette is also a photographer so it just fit so perfectly. Guests were then able to enjoy a favorite cuisine of Danette and Nikhil’s from Spain with Social Paella catering some of the most delicious food ever! In addition, their cake was decorated with an amazing golden world design!

Vintage Finds

Another favorite design element of mine was the mismatch of vintage china for reception. Danette and her mom scoured flea markets and vintage shops for months collecting salad, dinner + dessert plates and even coffee and teacups for all of their guests. It was a beautiful eclectic mix of patterns that perfectly fit with the venue’s unique garden. It proves that while designing your wedding, you don’t have to be matchy-matchy with your decor! Just have some fun with it!
