4 Ways Minimalist Wedding Decor Doesn’t Sacrifice On Style

When planning your wedding, there are so many details that go into the decorations for the event. There are centerpieces, layering linens, hanging twinkle lights, creating photo booths, making favors, and numerous other tasks. On the other hand, the minimalist style is a new trend that is sweeping the wedding industry. Most people see it as a reason to cut out items, but there is much to be said about this approach. Read below for the vital elements that you’ll want to include for your minimalist wedding. Less is more!

Neutral Colors

The first area to accomplish minimalist wedding details is in using neutral tones. For example, light gray, cream, or white. Pick one neutral, and make it a priority throughout your entire wedding planning process. For instance, in the invitations, table linens, bridesmaid dresses, or flowers. However, don’t feel like you can’t have any color. Pick one or two and have hints of it, keeping the visual emphasis on the neutral tone. This will show consistency and a clean feel.

Picture Frames

To carry the appearance of neatness throughout your wedding, use picture frames. They are the perfect way to balance simplicity and elegance because they’re so versatile. You can use frames for various signs, table numbers, or the traditional showcasing of photos. One idea for table numbers is investing in elegant picture frames in gold or silver. Seek ones that are glass on the front and back, so you can see right through them when on display. Then, write or paint the table numbers to the center of the surface. You can easily DIY this by learning calligraphy, like this bride! Having a transparent element will add overall minimalist sophistication and it’s a great way to save some money.

Elements of Nature

Another item that shines amongst minimalist wedding themes is having elements from nature incorporated into the decor. In the sea of the neutral tones, having greenery and different florals will boost an authentic feel. Greenery can be added almost anywhere for your wedding, too. Down the ceremony aisle, on tables, hanging from the ceiling, and even for a photo booth backdrop. This is also an excellent area to add your hints of color, too! Use your venue as inspiration, like this wedding at Triunfo Creek Vineyards, where the bride used potted plants for centerpieces. She grew these in the year leading up to her wedding and then guests could take them home at the end of the night. This served a double purpose of centerpieces and a favor for guests.

Wood Tones

Having opposing textures, such as wood tones, are essential to use within your simple, minimalist wedding theme. When the bulk of your event surrounds one hue, you must have hints of other components to make the entire space and design balance. Some ways you can incorporate wood into your decor is having wood chairs, a welcome sign made out of a piece of plywood, or having thin tree stumps in your centerpieces to serve as table numbers.

The minimalist wedding approach requires all of your details to be intentional and thought out. Look into this wedding for inspiration! Decide what elements you want to include in your wedding day and stick to it. Having your theme carry throughout the entire wedding will be essential to achieve this look. When all is accomplished, the focus of the wedding will be surrounded by the atmosphere you sought out, and you and your significant other.
