The best places in the desert to say “I Do”

One of my favorite parts of being a wedding planner (other than my clients) is that it allows me to travel. I love exploring the different beautiful areas of California with my couples and getting the perfect backdrop for their dream-wedding day. We are so lucky in California because we have so many different climates all within driving distance. The beach, the mountains, the city and one of my personal favorites, the desert! Planning a desert wedding has it’s own unique set of challenges so I’m sharing my top 7 picks for wedding venues in Palm Springs and Joshua Tree just because I love it there so much.
Tumbleweed Sanctuary
The epitome of desert life, Tumbleweed Sanctuary is just that: a sanctuary. Tucked into the heart of Joshua Tree, this venue has a beautiful view of the mountains and offers indoor and outdoor spaces for your celebration. For smaller ceremonies, check out the coolest rock installation called, The Labyrinth. This venue is simply stunning and I had a client of mine get married here last October. It was pretty rad! Photos to come soon from that rad wedding.
Rimrock Ranch
Rimrock Ranch is nestled just outside of Joshua Tree in a tiny cute town called, Pioneer Town. It’s straight out of an old western movie. Surrounded by some of the most incredible mountain views and cacti everywhere, this venue also has some of the cutest accommodations available like cabins and vintage air streamers. Yes, you heard that right. If you and your partner are looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle of the city for your “I Do’s”, you have to check out this rustic cowboy-inspired venue.
Pioneertown Motel
Don’t let the word “motel” fool you – this historical gem will have all of your guests in awe deciding their favorite part. Pioneertown Motel was originally built in the 1940’s as a place for the stars to stay while they were filming classic Hollywood western movies. According to their website, Gene Autry stayed there! Today, it’s been reimagined for travelers and events. There is no end to photo opportunities for you and your guests. You guys, this place is incredible!
Lautner Compound
Desert chic is the best way I can think to describe this little piece of modern mid-century heaven. The Lautner Compound is made up of a series of housing options for both you and your guests with a large, pristine outdoor park for both ceremony and reception. There are incredible backdrop and wall options to say your vows. Plus, it is completely customizable! You can configure the wedding of your dreams. If you want a desert wedding that feels more modern than rustic, this is the place to go. Hoping to tour it soon and share more with you all.
The Ace Hotel

I love the Ace Hotel because even though this venue has a strong vintage vibe, each wedding space has the ability for each couple to personalize it however they’d like. It’s the epitome of vintage Palm Springs. Their in-house catering team is a grand slam and the photo backdrops are unlimited. In addition, of your guests can stay at the hotel so the entire weekend is as smooth as butter for everyone. For more inspiration, check out this winter wedding we hosted there!
TheBank
As soon as you arrive at TheBank, you are transported back to 1955 when this space was first built. Originally a bank building, this venue has retained its original mid-century design, including an old vault turned into a lounge. It’s a large, expansive space perfect for weddings. Also, while most venues have a curfew in Palm Springs, TheBank allows you to party late into the night!
Sands Hotel and Spa
Talk about a dream space for couples! The Sands Hotel and Spa in Palm Springs a one-stop shop with space for ceremony, reception and on-site catering. There’s even a spa for some pre-wedding pampering. The hotel has the most photogenic dusty pink accents and palm leaf patterned wallpaper everywhere. Seriously, this is a must-see!
