If you are a bride to be, do yourself a favor, hire KARI! She is professional, talented, creative, laid back, kind, informative, responsible, prompt, thorough, fun, everything you need but didn’t know you need! From start to finish she is there for you AND she lets you pick the plan of your choice that fits your needs. At Easter we picked our wedding date for the 4th of July, three months later! I met with Kari right after Easter and she was calm, reassuring and said we could absolutely get everything done in time. Within 3 weeks I had most of my vendors picked out and hired! She keeps thorough timelines and notes and has great recommendations. The day of the wedding she was a behind-the-scenes energizer bunny making sure everything went as planned. Of course, there were hitches, but as a blushing, happy bride, I didn’t even know about any of them. Kari expertly handled everything! Kari was amazing to work with! I believe it is so important to have a wedding planner (at least for the day of the wedding) because the day goes by so fast and the last thing you want to do is worry about the small details. Kari is very organized and detail-oriented, while being down-to-earth and calm. She was always available and responsive through e-mail and phone up until the day of the wedding and made sure everything was in order. One of our main concerns was the cost of the wedding, and she tried her best to find us the best deals. I remember about 2 hours before the wedding ceremony was scheduled, there was a fire on an adjacent hill to the venue and the one road to reach the venue was blocked! But she notified me in such a cool and collected manner and assured me she was communicating with the firefighters to get the guests safely to the venue. Hours and hours of work go into a wedding and we all want everything to go perfectly…but honestly, things happen and all we can do is the best we can with what we have…and Kari does that beautifully! Kari was the sweetest, most laid-back wedding planner. She is definitely not your typical A-type personality wedding planner who is yelling, running hither thither on the big day. Kari is unusually calm and collected throughout the day, helps set-up all your decorations the day of as well as helps break-down everything at the end of the big day. She is very well organized and sets up a detailed plan with you prior to the day of as well as communicates with all the other vendors to ensure your day goes as smoothly as possible. She is very responsive to all your questions and concerns leading up to the day and flexible to any last minute requests day-of. I got married in November 2016 and used Kari & her team as my day of coordinator – they were a dream! Working with Kari is such a breeze – she’s easy going, confident, and a total pro. I can’t say enough amazing things about Kari, she’s simply the best at what she does! My now husband and I were so overwhelmed with beginning the process of planning a wedding, we’re so thankful Kari fell into our laps! Feathered Arrow helped us with our wedding and it couldn’t have been more magical. At first I was a little skeptical about needing an event planner. I love planning events, being organized, and we weren’t having a huge wedding, so I didn’t see the need. I was completely wrong! Kari Dirksen took care of so many small details that we didn’t even think of. She was always readily available to answer any questions we had, and we could tell that her priority was to bring to life the fairytale that we envisioned. Kari at Feathered Arrow came highly recommended to me by our venue’s (Calamigos Ranch, Malibu) wedding coordinator. I could feel right away her positive, confident, warm and soothing spirit. As my daughter lives in Texas, I was planning everything from this end. Kari was not near me, but she graciously agreed to meet me halfway to discuss the wedding and what her services provided. I actually interviewed another highly regarded coordinator here locally, but when I met Kari, there was no doubt that she was THE one! During the entire process, Kari was quick to respond, happy to meet Molly when she came to town, professional, thorough, and so so friendly. We just loved working with her. We booked her “month of” package which was fabulous. I never worried about contacting vendors to make sure they knew where to go and when– Kari had it. She had great ideas and recommendations during the year we planned– and near the end, the details perfected– table placements, timeline just right, always a wink away if we needed her! Seriously, if you are planning your wedding, do not go farther– at all! There is no wedding planner that could do better. I cannot begin to describe how incredible Kari and her team were at Feathered Arrow. I used them for month-of planning for my wedding on Catalina Island in April. I knew from the first time that we met Kari that she would be the perfect fit for us. She was so laid back and easy to talk to, and I knew that I would want her calm presence around me on what would be one of the most important days of my life! Hiring Kari as our wedding planner was the best decision I made throughout the entire wedding planning process. She had great references for photographers, videographers, and florists and each one of them made our wedding special and fun in different ways. Kari was my point of contact throughout the planning period and she helped me stay sane as things started to get stressful. At one point I emailed Kari saying “HELP! I MESSED UP!” and her response was “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it!” and a few days later, the matter was settled and I could breathe again! On the wedding day, everything was absolutely perfect and I didn’t even feel the least amount of stress because I knew that Kari was taking care of it all.
